IMATEQ France

For decades, France has been one of Vossloh Rolling Stock's most important sales markets in Europe. As a result of the significant increase in unit numbers in various age categories, service responsibilities for both commissioning and maintenance are also growing.

IMATEQ France was founded in 2015 as a joint venture between the former Vossloh Locomotives France and Socofer. Originally a designer and manufacturer of rail vehicles, Socofer now specialises in services in the field of rail vehicle technology (traction vehicles for the maintenance of railway lines, overhead lines and railway infrastructure). The long-established company is also one of the third-largest employers in the Saint-Pierre-des-Corps region.

In mid-2018, Europe's largest private diesel locomotive maintenance centre for customers in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland was established in a prominent location. Thanks to state-of-the-art equipment, experienced staff and mobile service teams, the company is able to offer and professionally perform a complete range of certified services. Customers can access these services as individual services, through maintenance contracts or as individually tailored packages, depending on their needs.

IMATEQ is also able to carry out the general inspection (HU) required in Germany. This ensures uncomplicated maintenance of locomotives that are licensed in both countries. Currently, around 200 Vossloh Rolling Stock locomotives are in service in France and in cross-border traffic.

The project management team will continue to handle customer handover of new vehicles transferred from Kiel. As part of this process, final work on country-specific equipment parts and final load and test runs will be carried out in Saint-Pierre-des-Corps. This is also where warranty work will be handled in close cooperation with customers. Support for the vehicles until the end of their service life also includes modifications, upgrades and software updates.
